One of Robinson's most pleasurable commissions was drawing his impressions of Broadway shows, entitled Theatre Life with Robinson, for Playbill, the magazine/program for Broadway plays and musicals.

Jerry attended the show and rehearsals, drew multiple images of the cast from his orchestra seat, backstage and in dressing rooms.
