Jerry Robinson: Ambassador of Comics

As a member of the original Batman team, Jerry Robinson created the first and most iconic of all supervillains, the Joker, and cocreated Robin, the archetypal sidekick. Robinson worked on every comic book genre and brought to life his own heroes such as London, Jet Scott, and Atoman.

His artistry also extended into editorial cartooning and syndicated newspaper strips such as Still Life, Life with Robinson and Flubs & Fluffs as well as book illustrator of over thirty books, fine arts, photography, academia, and humanitarian affairs. Robinson has been an influential teacher, curator of cartoon and graphic art exhibits, and a tireless champion of artists’ rights.
